What is Body recomposition?

Body recomposition is the process of losing fat and building muscle at roughly the same time.

Also called: body recomp, recomp.

Body recomposition means changing your body's makeup, with less fat and more muscle, without big changes in scale weight. It tends to work best for beginners, people returning after a break, or those with a bit of extra body fat.

It usually needs regular strength training, enough protein, and calories close to maintenance. For example, a beginner who lifts three times a week and eats near their TDEE may notice clothes fitting better while the scale barely moves. Progress is slow and varies from person to person, and no result is promised.
