What is Plateau?
A plateau is a period when your progress stalls and your weights, reps or body measurements stop improving.
Also called: stall, sticking point, training plateau.
A plateau is when you keep training but stop seeing improvement for several weeks. Your lifts stay the same, or your weight and measurements stop changing. It happens to nearly everyone, and it does not mean you are failing. Staying patient and consistent matters most during these phases.
Common fixes include eating a bit more or less as needed, sleeping better, adjusting your programme, or taking a deload. For example, if your bench press has been stuck at 40 kg for a month, try adding a set, improving rest, or switching rep ranges. Change one thing at a time and give it a few weeks.
