How to do the shoulder press (band)

  1. 1

Stand on the middle of a resistance band with feet hip-width apart. Hold the ends at shoulder height with palms facing forward and your elbows slightly in front.

  2. 2

Press your hands straight overhead until your arms are almost fully extended. Keep your abs tight and your ribs down.

  3. 3

Lower slowly back to shoulder height, resisting the band's pull. Breathe out as you press and in as you lower.

Form tip: Keep the band tension even on both sides; if you lean back to finish the press, use a lighter band.
