How to do the seated bicep curl (dumbbell)
- 1
Sit on a bench with back support or the end of a bench, with a dumbbell in each hand hanging at your sides, palms forward. Keep your feet flat and your back straight.
- 2
Curl both dumbbells up toward your shoulders, keeping your elbows by your sides. Squeeze your biceps hard at the top.
- 3
Lower slowly until your arms are fully straight. Breathe out as you curl and in as you lower.
Form tip: Sitting limits body swing, so do not lean back to help; use lighter weights than standing and keep your elbows still.
