What is Reps and sets?
A rep is one complete movement of an exercise, and a set is a group of reps done in a row before you rest.
Also called: repetitions, sets and reps.
A repetition, or rep, is one full lift of an exercise, such as one squat or one push-up. A set is a block of reps done without stopping. If you write 3 x 10, it means 3 sets of 10 reps, with rest breaks in between.
Reps and sets control how hard a workout is. Lower reps with heavier weight lean toward strength, while moderate reps suit muscle building and higher reps train endurance. For example, a beginner might do 3 sets of 10 to 12 goblet squats. Pick a weight that feels challenging but lets you keep good form.
