What is Split routine?

A split routine divides your training across the week so that different muscle groups are worked on different days.

Also called: training split, push pull legs, PPL.

A split routine spreads your workouts by body part or movement type. Common versions include push, pull and legs, upper and lower body, or a classic body-part split like chest day and back day. It lets you train each area with enough volume while others recover.

The best split is the one you can follow consistently. For example, a beginner might do upper body on Monday and Thursday, and lower body on Tuesday and Friday. Another option is full-body workouts three days a week. Pick based on your schedule and recovery.
