How to do the cable crossover

  1. 1

Set both pulleys to a high position and grab a handle in each hand. Step forward into a staggered stance and lean slightly from the hips, with a soft elbow bend.

  2. 2

Pull both handles down and in front of you, crossing your hands at the bottom for an extra squeeze. Slowly let them rise until you feel a chest stretch.

  3. 3

Breathe out as you cross, hold for a second, then inhale while returning for about three seconds. Stay steady and do not rock your body.

Form tip: Alternate which hand crosses on top each rep, and avoid using body momentum to move the handles.
