How to do the decline crunch
- 1
Lie on a decline bench with your feet hooked under the pads, knees slightly bent and hands crossed on your chest or behind your head.
- 2
Curl your upper body up by tightening your abs until your shoulders lift off the bench.
- 3
Pause briefly, then lower slowly back to the start without letting your head drop onto the bench. Breathe out as you curl up.
Form tip: Start with a mild incline and go to a steeper one only when you can control the movement.
