How to do the lat pulldown (machine)
- 1
Adjust the seat and thigh pad so you are secure and can reach the handles overhead. Grip the handles with arms straight and lean back slightly.
- 2
Pull the handles down toward your upper chest, driving your elbows down and back and squeezing your lats. Return slowly until your arms are straight.
- 3
Breathe out as you pull and in as you return, about three seconds. Keep your chest up and shoulders down.
Form tip: Do not use body swing to start the movement; set the thigh pad snug so you stay planted.
