How to do the single arm pushdown (cable)

  1. 1

Stand beside a high cable pulley with a single handle or loop. Grip with one hand, palm down or facing in, elbow tucked to your side, and rest your other hand on your hip.

  2. 2

Push the handle down until your arm is fully straight and squeeze your triceps. Keep the upper arm still so only your forearm moves.

  3. 3

Return slowly until your forearm is just above parallel, taking about 3 seconds. Breathe out on the push and in on the return, then repeat on the other side.

Form tip: Do not twist your torso or lean into the cable to cheat; do the same reps on both arms to keep them even.
