How to do the svend press (plate)
- 1
Stand holding a weight plate with both palms pressed flat together at its sides, with the plate at chest height and elbows bent close to your body.
- 2
Squeeze the plate hard between your palms and push it straight out in front of you until your arms are almost straight. Bring it back to your chest.
- 3
Keep the squeeze on the whole time, breathing out as you press and in as you return. Move smoothly for about two seconds each way.
Form tip: Use a light plate and keep the plate at chest height; dropping it down towards your belly takes tension off your chest.
