How to do the t-bar row

  1. 1

Straddle the bar with feet shoulder width apart, hinge until your torso is about 45 degrees, and hold the handle with a flat back and slightly bent knees.

  2. 2

Row the weight toward your chest, driving your elbows behind you and squeezing your shoulder blades. Lower until your arms are straight.

  3. 3

Breathe out as you row and in as you lower, over about two seconds. Keep your head neutral and core braced.

Form tip: Do not round your back or heave with your hips; if you use a chest pad, keep your chest on it.
