Muscles worked

How to do the squat (suspension)

  1. 1

Hold the suspension handles in front of you with arms straight and feet shoulder-width apart, leaning back slightly with tension on the straps. Keep your chest up.

  2. 2

Bend your knees and push your hips back to squat down while holding the straps for balance, until your thighs are parallel to the floor. Press through your heels to stand.

  3. 3

Lower over 2 seconds, breathing in on the way down and out as you stand. Use your arms lightly for balance only.

Form tip: Do not pull yourself up with your arms; step your feet farther back to make it easier, and keep your knees in line with your toes.
