How to do the chest press (band)

  1. 1

Anchor a resistance band behind you at chest height, or wrap it around your upper back. Hold the ends with elbows bent at chest height and stagger your feet.

  2. 2

Press your hands forward until your arms are straight, squeezing your chest at the end. Slowly let your hands come back until your elbows are level with your torso.

  3. 3

Exhale as you press and inhale as you return over about two seconds. Keep tension on the band at all times and brace your core.

Form tip: Check the band for tears first, and do not let your shoulders shrug or the band snap back quickly.
