How to do the lateral raise (band)

  1. 1

Stand on the middle of a resistance band with feet hip-width apart. Hold one end in each hand at your sides with a slight bend in your elbows.

  2. 2

Raise your arms out to the sides until they reach shoulder height, leading with your elbows. Pause briefly at the top.

  3. 3

Lower slowly and resist the band's pull on the way down. Breathe out as you lift and in as you lower.

Form tip: Stand on the band closer together for more tension; keep your shoulders down and avoid leaning back.
