How to do the cable crunch

  1. 1

Kneel facing a high cable with a rope attached, holding the rope beside your head, with hips above your knees.

  2. 2

Curl your torso down by rounding your spine and bringing your elbows toward your knees, using your abs, not your arms.

  3. 3

Pause at the bottom and squeeze, then return slowly to upright. Breathe out as you crunch down and in as you rise.

Form tip: Keep your hips still and do not sit back onto your heels; the movement comes from your spine, not your hips.
