How to do the drag curl (barbell)

  1. 1

Stand tall holding a barbell with an underhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart, resting at your thighs. Keep your core tight and your chest up.

  2. 2

Curl the bar up by pulling your elbows back behind your torso, dragging the bar up along your body. Stop at your lower chest and squeeze your biceps.

  3. 3

Lower the bar back down along your body slowly until your arms are straight. Breathe out as you curl and in as you lower.

Form tip: Keep the bar touching your body the whole way and do not let your elbows swing forward; this one works best with lighter weights.
