How to do the overhead tricep extension (ez bar)
- 1
Sit on a bench with back support or stand tall, holding an EZ bar with an overhand grip on the inner bends. Press it overhead with arms straight.
- 2
Bend your elbows to lower the bar behind your head, upper arms staying vertical. Extend back up to full lockout, squeezing your triceps.
- 3
Lower over 3 seconds while breathing in, and breathe out on the press. Keep your core tight and your elbows pointing forward.
Form tip: Do not arch your back or let your elbows flare; if you feel shoulder pain, reduce the weight or bring the bar down less far.
