How to do the v-bar pushdown
- 1
Stand facing a high cable fitted with a V-bar, feet shoulder-width apart. Grip the angled bar with palms down and tuck your elbows against your ribs.
- 2
Press the V-bar down until your arms are locked out, squeezing your triceps. The angled handle keeps your wrists in a more comfortable position.
- 3
Let the bar rise slowly to just above chest height over 2 to 3 seconds. Breathe out as you push and in as you come back up.
Form tip: Do not shrug your shoulders or lean your whole body into it; keep your chest tall and your elbows still.
