How to do the sit up (weighted)
- 1
Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat, hugging a weight plate against your chest with both hands.
- 2
Curl your upper body up until you are sitting upright, keeping the plate close to your chest.
- 3
Lower slowly back to the floor without dropping. Breathe out as you sit up and in as you lower.
Form tip: Pick a plate you can lift without jerking, and keep your feet planted; ask a partner to hold your feet if they lift.
