How to do the copenhagen plank

  1. 1

Lie on your side with your top leg resting on a bench at knee or ankle height, and your bottom leg underneath, supporting yourself on your forearm.

  2. 2

Lift your hips so your body forms a straight line, then raise your bottom leg up to meet the top leg, using your inner thigh to hold it.

  3. 3

Hold for 15 to 30 seconds, breathing steadily, then lower with control and switch sides. Start with the knee on the bench to make it easier.

Form tip: Keep your hips from sagging; stop if you feel any sharp pain in your groin.
