Muscles worked
How to do the jm press
- 1
Lie on a flat bench and unrack a barbell with a grip just inside shoulder-width. Hold it over your upper chest with elbows tucked in, and set a spotter nearby.
- 2
Bend your elbows to lower the bar toward your chin or upper chest. Then press the bar up and slightly back, locking out with your triceps.
- 3
Lower under control over 2 to 3 seconds and breathe out as you press.
Form tip: This is a hybrid of a skull crusher and close grip press, so start light and keep the bar away from your face; always use a spotter.
