Muscles worked

How to do the dip (weighted)

  1. 1

Grip parallel dip bars and hold a dip belt or dumbbell between your legs. Lift yourself to straight arms with a slight forward lean.

  2. 2

Lower until your upper arms are about parallel to the floor, then push up powerfully until your arms are straight.

  3. 3

Breathe in as you lower and out as you press, with a steady two-second descent. Do not swing your legs for momentum.

Form tip: Add weight only after you can do clean bodyweight dips; keep the depth controlled, with no bouncing at the bottom.
