How to do the calf stretch (wall)

  1. 1

Stand facing a wall about an arm's length away. Place your hands on the wall at chest height, with one foot forward and the other leg straight behind you, both heels on the floor.

  2. 2

Bend your front knee and lean your hips toward the wall, keeping your back heel pressed down and your back leg straight. You should feel a stretch in the calf of the back leg.

  3. 3

Hold for 30 seconds, breathing slowly, then switch sides.

Form tip: Keep your back foot pointing straight ahead and your heel down. If your heel lifts, step in a little closer to the wall.
